It seems all you need to do is go high enough to find them and have a suit capable of sustaining you in the low oxygen environment. Respectively, you find them in the mini biomes: Bones, Oasis, Eyepatch, Geode, and Poison Ocean. It's made of Boneboo, Feathercrown, Oculemon, Neonmelon, and Toxictop, all of which are relatively difficult to obtain, but you'll probably get an opportunity at some point for each just getting through the different tier planets. The most expensive dish is a drink, and it's marking is legendary, which is the Ultimate Juice (and it's taught by Podzest, another expensive drink made with glitch crops). What's best is finding what effects you want to have during combat or something and grow food for that, or growing food to make dishes to sell, which I'm not saying that's more profitable than other methods of getting pixels, it's probably not, but it gives me a sense of earning an honest living sometimes which is a nice refresher from the adventure once in a while. You can try to get all the crops and manage to get the collection of all dishes, but that's just for achievements and bragging rights. The other thing I like to do is have a few merchants, floran and hylotl, since florans sell most kinds of meat and hylotl sell fish, so you can use that in your recipies.Īs for what crops to plant (and you can consider animals, too) you can pick out what you want to make from knowing what dishes you want. Another thing is that it requires quite a bit of titanium, gold, silver, copper, and durasteel for all the building and the sprinklers, but I still hold that it is efficient and helpful. You can use a regular core to grow two rows of crops, though, you have to have some way to get between rows, and then there's 35 blocks of space between wall to wall, which is not a very helpful number in that situation, but despite that, it's still very efficient to do. My favourite thing to do is make a space station dedicated to growing crops. You can find rice anywhere grass is growing on dirt, and it stacks to 1000 in its raw form and never goes bad, (which, actually reflects how cereal grains behave in real life (not that they never go bad raw, they're just super durable)) Anyway, with that much rice, you can just carry a campfire around or keep crafting them every time you need to boil some and you'll never run out of food, but that's the method for farming just to get food and not worrying about it. Well, first thing I'm going to say is that if all you want to do is not worry about food, then grow rice till it's flowing out your pockets.
